Superb
Not only my favorite Jet Li film, but also one of my favorite movies of any genre ever. It goes so far beyond being a simple remake of "Fist of Fury"; Jet really makes the role his own. My only complaint is not about the movie, but the DVD. I bought the DD release despite already owning a dvd version of the movie because I was hoping for some cool special features that I didn't already have, maybe better subtitles or a different dub. But Dragon Dynasty's version is almost identical to the "Jet Li collection release from a few years back. The DVD is sorely lacking in extras, but the film itself is just damn-near perfect.

Such an amazing film

Jet Li's best work
I am so excited that DD will be releasing this gem digitally remastered. I am eager to see a quality transfer along with the extras. I was hoping to see a Jet Li or Billy Chow interview. With that being said, the fights and action choreography were top notch. Yuen Wo Ping, Jet Li, and Billy Chow were on top of their game. Thanks DD.

One of Jet Li's best film
Great movie with Jet Li doing more grounded fighting although wires are still used to enhance some moves. It all depends if Dragon Dynasty does this movie justice in terms of picture, audio and subtitles quality.

The end-all quintessetial Martial Arts film of cinematic history.
This has yet to be topped. Everything involved from Yuen Wo-ping's stunning choreography, to the gorgeous set design, to Jet Li's stellar career defining performance as Chen... Dragon Dynasty has FINALLY released what has until now only existed in DVD travesties of bootleg editions and poorly dubbed, unrestored, re-cut releases. Martial arts fans and just cinephiles in general rejoice!!! This is the moment we've been waiting for! Movies in general don't come much better than this!!!

Perhaps the greatest martial arts film of all time!
The definitive Jet Li movie. This is the perhaps the only film that truly showcase Jet Li's maximum potential as an on screen fighter. Even though the story mimics that of the classic Bruce Lee film, this version is actually better. This is also easily Yuen Wo Ping's best work. If you are a martial arts movie fan, you can't miss this.

This is one of the best movies ive seen and definitely the best jet li movie, fights are very convincing, fastpaced and intense. Fist of Legend looks more realistic than pretty much all of his hollywood films.

Wait for the Blu-Ray
Fist of Legend is one of my all time favourites (the others are Tai Chi Master and Iron Monkey). I would not hesitate for a moment to buy this except it is in NTSC format. Even anamorphic PAL would have been ok. I'm gonna wait for the Blu-Ray.

Jet Li's Finest Movie
This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and has the best fighting sequences of any movie I've ever seen. This is my go-to movie whenever I try introducing someone to the martial arts genre. Jet Li is badass.

When I started to watch Jet Li's first original movies. Fist Of Legend surprised me a lot. The action, stunts he made was just unbelievable. I though the next best action hero in USA

Jet's Masterwork
If this movie is not on your list of the top 3 martial arts movies of all time, then you don't know martial arts movies. This is a huge relief to have a decent release, esp for those of us who bought the shady, non-anamorphic, burned-in subs version. Buy it now! I'm buying two copies, just in case.

Inspiring...Exciting...Masterful...Just a treasure for any martial arts inthusiest and fan.
This movie has ranked at the top of my list. There were so many messages weaved into this story of prejudice and martial arts. It really tapped into the spirit of the arts. From the purists of the arts to the adaptive, it showed what the spirit of attitude and determination could do. Jet Li made the part believable as Chen, a man with dreams. A man without prejudice standing for his principles and beliefs. He fought for his land, he fought for his pride, he fought for the ultimate ideal; peace. He was willing to turn his back on everything, including his surrogate family for his peace of mind. But when it came time to make a stand and protect all he cherished.
The martial arts in the movie was masterful. Crisp and precise movements highlighted the choreography. The story was as solid as they come even though it wasn't complex. And the philosophy behind the actions complimented the tale making it an incredible film to watch over and over again. The climax was pulse pounding. The scenery was beautiful. And the detail was immaculate. This movie could never be duplicated or replaced as a classic. It will forever be timeless placing Jet Li in a realm of immortality for his work.

Great transfer and sound a vast improvement over initial release.
It is nice to see the Weinsteins re-releasing some of the films that they butchered upon initial release. Now lets see re-issues of ALL the Asian films the recut and released dubbed only in the late nineties and early 2000's. Jet Li's entire catalogue... especially The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk and Bodyguard from Bejing and Drunken Master 2. Especially Drunken Master 2. It would also be great if the aquired Jackie's butchered catalogue from New Line and released uncut versions of stuff like Rumble in the Bronx and First strike. I don't remember who effed up Supercop New Line or Dimension but I'd like to see it reissued under its real title Police Story 3: Supercop without that terriblely generic hip hop soundtrack. Dragon Dynasty has made a good start but there is still a long way to go to make up for how badly Asian cinema was chopped up and released dubbed only in those first few years after Rumble in the Bronx brought Jackie to the states. I don't care so much about special features I just want to see uncut versions of the films with original language audio as an option.

Jet Li's best. Period.
This is one of the best Kung Fu movies made. Don't question it. The fight scenes are out standing! And the choreography is blinding in it's brilliance. If you haven't seen this one, buy it and prepare to be amazed.
One complaint, and its against Dragon Dynasty. MORE MANDARIN LANGUAGE TRACKS, PLEASE! I don't speak Cantonese but I do speak Mandarin, so please, please, please.

Huge congrats to everyone involved in making this DVD
When I first heard about DD, I was skeptical. And, like most skeptics, I was more than happy to be proven wrong.
In short: the movie is awesome, the extras are awesome, Bey's commentary was awesome, and DD is awesome.
I cannot say "thank you" enough times for what DD is doing. While I liked my status as the geek who owned all these out-of-print DVDs, I honestly don't have a problem buying them again if the care put into DD's release of Fist of Legend is indicative of their releases.
Again, GREAT JOB to all involved.
Oh... the movie? Best Hong Kong movie ever, in my opinion; Jet Li and Yuen Woo-ping at their best, which is better than "best".

A great edition of a great martial arts classic

Awesome movie! This DVD however has it's issues.
This is the best this movie has ever looked as far as home video is concerned, it's too bad it's presented with a re-done, god-awful english title sequence. The title of the film (with the flames and the fonts) looks so stereo-typical, like somebody "trying" to give it a Chinese look. The ending is slightly clipped aswell. Apart from those minor disappointments, the bulk of the movie looks and sounds better than ever before.

Possibly Jet Li's best ever film, this is the shortened version and has poorly translated subtitles. Such a shame as the rest of the set is quite good. Come on DD, raise your standards!!

One of Jet Li's Bests
I saw this on BBC 1 not that long a go.This is my seconded favourite Jet Li film after Once upon a time in China it follows a similar plot to the great Bruce Lee film Fist of Fury. Set in Shanghai in 1937 during the Second Sino-Japanese War.With the last fight scene where Jet uses a belt as a weapon Then a good twisted in the ending.

Another non-stop action packed movie

Fist of Legend is hands down one of the greatest movie peroid.Now I am not just talking within the martial art genre but overall in general. Bruce Lee gave us Fist of Fury and blessed us with a mouth-waterng cake and Jet Li came along and added to icing to complete this fine serving and satisfy our appetite. Fist of Legend is packed with a story that captivates you and does not let go until the final credits run and even then it leaves an urge to rewind and watch it all over again. I am pleased to have this cult-classic in my collection and Jet Li gives a top-form performance which blows the typical acting regarding a martial artist turned actor out of the waters. On a scale of 1 to 5 on the rating meter i give it a 6 so you tell me how much I enjoy the flick?

I'm a big martial arts fan, and Jet LI is one of my favorite actors. He's about as famous as Bruce Lee is. From me to him, tell him to keep up the outstanding work. I would also love to train under him, and learn to be as fast, and agile as he is. He's the best!
