One of the greatest films of all time.
Visceral, poetic, beautifully violent, and unapologetically romantic [including the heterosexual(?) bond between killer and cop]. John Woo at his absolute best. Hard Boiled may be a better action film, but The Killer delivers more drama, character depth, and romance into a shorter running time; making it easily one of the best all-around films ever to come out of the Hong Kong film industry and the world in general. I recommend watching it at least once all the way through with the sound off. One of the most purely visual films you can get and yet, the story and charactors still shine through, which is a testament to the direction of John Woo at the peak of his powers.

One of my favorite films.....
I hope Dragon Dynasty releases this Blu Ray with a proper 1080p transfer. Also hope it's uncut and includes one of the previous John Woo commentaries along with a Bey Logan commentary. If it's truly an "Ultimate Edition" it should also include the cut/extended scenes as extras.
Dragon Dynasty please don't screw this Blu-ray up
