Loved it.
Another great Tsui Hark film, and you got it in the original, uncut 153 minute version! Bravo! Great action scenes, awesome storyline, and the best actors! Seven Swords delivers!

Oh what could've been!
Big disappointment. The story is a mess. Action scenes are brutally incoherent. The editing is sloppy. The pacing is way off. I'm a big fan of Tsui Hark and I really wanted to like this movie but ultimately, SEVEN SWORDS is one giant headache of a movie.

Amazing action sequences.
I really wish this was the Director's 4 hr+ cut, but we may never see that. This is the longest cut available at 153 minutes.
Fantastic fight scenes with the beginning of a very intricate story.

Cut to death
While the action was great, I had soooo much trouble with the story, since some characters appeared out of nowhere at random times. Of course, when you cut out 2 hours of a movie that's not shocking. Why can we not get the full cut of this movie? How is it an ultimate edition if it's been hacked to death?

Quality
Though not so much an action flick as it seems to be advertised, this film is great. The acting is superb, and all the over the topness is spot on and entertaining. Awesome weaponry and high class fighting. Definitely worth looking into.

Took a couple viewings.
I will admit I had to watch Seven Swords a couple times to fully appreciate it, but then again ironically enough I also had to watch Seven Samurai a few times. It is a great film, though I have come to loath most "epics" that have been puked out of Hollywood, in asia they can do it best!

It was Nice
I loved it. At first it was brutal, but that was part of the character of the enemy. I am waiting for a part 2

Good movie
nice to see a new tsui hark film worth watching! this is the same length cut as in hk and china! trust me i bought it in china first! some of the characters are not explored enough, but the swordplay is intresting and very entertaining. All im waiting for is if there will ever be a directors cut released anywhere, 4 hours baby!

I liked the film. I could tell that there may have been more to the storyline.
All I want to know is... When is part 2 due out?

Great Wuxia film... without all of the flying (thanks DD)!
What a movie! Fantastic characters (General Fire-Wind ruled) and great battles... what more could you ask for? Well, I guess fans of Hero/Crouching Tiger would demand more flying and less bloodshed but for me, this is a perfect Wuxia flick.

The greatest wuxia film of 2005
Tsui Hark makes another great film. With excellent choreography by Liu Chia-Liang, and starring Donnie Yen! Good thing this is the uncut version!

The beginning of an epic...
It was a huge undertaking to condense this story into 2.5 hours. All in all, they did a great job. The sets and costumes are beautiful and the action is well done. Donnie Yen amazes once again. Hurry up with the sequel!

difficult to follow but overall a good flick
i have to admit it took me 2 times to watch to actually follow what happens, but overall the movie did not disappoint in any way.

crouching tiger,hidden dragon on steroids!
my favorite and sick part of the movie was the final sword fight with donnie in the tight enclosed area and to execute wire work and fighting in such a tight spot was breathtaking, great release dragon d.

My kind of flick!
I'm a huge fan of swordplay. This was right up my alley. There were sequences in this movie that I never thought possible. Excellent work!
